Bart Heijnen, tax adviser, is a partner in the Indirect Tax practice group as well as a member of the Energy & Infrastructure team.
Bart advises on a broad range of indirect tax matters, both at a Dutch and EU level, focusing on the more complex VAT issues.
He mainly advises multinational corporations, on both non-contentious and contentious issues. As such, he frequently advocates on behalf of clients before the tax authorities and has been involved in a number of indirect tax litigation proceedings.
Assisting client across various industries, Bart takes a special interest in the Energy & Infrastructure sector. Being a member of the Loyens & Loeff region team Germany, he has also gained significant experience advising upon the indirect tax aspects of cross-border business activities between Germany and the Netherlands.
Bart holds a PhD in tax (VAT) economics and is associated as a lecturer with several universities and post-graduate courses. He contributes regularly to books and professional journals on indirect tax topics and is a frequently asked speaker within his field of expertise.
