Our international Funds & Financial Litigation team collaborates with our flourishing Investment Management practice and our leading Financial Markets & Products experts to provide dispute resolution services in the investment fund-specific context. We bring together experts from different fields to pool knowledge and expertise and to bring the best bespoke services to our clients.
We regularly represent investment funds, their directors and service providers, as well as financial institutions, alternative investment fund managers and portfolio managers, in all pre-contentious and contentious matters before domestic courts across our home markets. We also have significant experience advising and representing the interests of investors, for example when faced with management misconduct, and acting in shareholders’ disputes.

Work Highlights
- Counsel to the former directors of a Luxembourg investment fund (respondents) in a dispute involving a multi-billion dollar global fraud, initiated by the trustees of the investment fund placed under judicial liquidation.
- Counsel to the former GP (claimants) of an unregulated AIF in a dispute against the majority investors arising out of the removal of the GP in summary proceedings before the Luxembourg courts, and in the negotiations with the majority investors.
- Counsel to a group of minority investors (claimants) in a dispute against the GP of an unregulated AIF and its sponsor arising out of management misconduct and governance questions in multiple proceedings before the Luxembourg courts. The value of the dispute is estimated at several hundred million euros.
- Counsel to a Luxembourg based investment manager (claimant) in a dispute involving off-shore proceedings against the issuer of notes for breach of fiduciary obligations. The value of the dispute is estimated at 40 million euros.
- Counsel to an individual investor (claimant) in a dispute against a bank and an investment fund arising out of management misconducts (civil and criminal), before the Luxembourg courts. The value of the dispute is estimated at 12 million euros.
