The European Union (EU) unveiled a new Cybersecurity Strategy at the end of 2020, emphasizing the need for robust national bodies overseeing cybersecurity and collaboration among Member States. The so-called NIS2 Directive aims to establish a common level of cybersecurity across the EU for important and essential entities, while the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), sets ICT security requirements for financial entities.

Other legislative proposals such as the Cyber Resilience Act and amendments to the Cybersecurity Act seek to enhance cybersecurity for digital products and strengthen the role of the EU Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISIA).

Given the weight of these obligations and their far-reaching implications, it is crucial for businesses to proactively familiarize themselves with the cybersecurity obligations.

Kim Lucassen, Nina Orlić and Martijn Schoonewille discuss together with various others experts the evolution of cyber threats and incident response – not only from a legal perspective but also addressing technical and operational aspects.

Topics to be discussed during this event:
  • The evolution of cyber threats;
  • Incident response: how to respond and recover from a cyber incident;
  • Upcoming regulations, such as NIS2 and DORA, which will compel businesses to re-elevate their cybersecurity measures
