This week, the leading leading international legal journal on class actions, the Mass Claims Journal, published a contribution by Marit Bosselaar, Irene Bloemen and Peter Sprietsma from the class actions team discussing the admissibility requirements applicable to claimants in class actions in the Netherlands. Marit, Irene and Peter delved deeper in the tailored rules in place for interest organisations claiming to serve the public interest through class actions and the developments in the application of those rules in case law. In addition, they took a closer look at the public debate in the Netherlands regarding the course of the future development of the WAMCA system, especially in relation to ESG-matters.

Our class actions team always keeps abreast of ongoing developments in Dutch class actions (WAMCA and pre-WAMCA). The team regularly publishes commentaries and articles on the developments in Dutch class actions. This article as well as the class actions team’s other publications are available upon request.
