As a result of the transaction, the local governments have each become a 50 per cent owner of four of the nine wind turbines of the wind farm 'Windpark Nij Hiddum-Houw'. These wind turbines will allow the local governments to sustainably generate the electricity consumption of their community. The wind turbines are expected to generate 75,000 MWh per year of power, which is equivalent to the power consumption of 22,000 households.
This transaction is an example of the Energy & Infrastructure practice group's involvement and expertise in the on-shore wind energy sector.
