Aldo Engels, attorney at law, is a member of the Loyens & Loeff International Tax Services Practice Group and of the Transfer Pricing Team in Belgium. He is a counsel in our Brussels office.
Aldo advises on matters related to corporate tax law as well as international tax law. His counsel in transfer pricing includes strategic advice, negotiations with tax authorities and dispute resolution. He advises on the set-up and conversion of business models, restructurings, intragroup financing and transactions involving intangibles. Aldo also has experience with tax aspects of investment funds, M&A, corporate reorganisations, BEPS, financial institutions, tax treaty matters (including permanent establishments and the impact of the MLI) and exchange of information mechanisms (FATCA & CRS).
He further has a special interest in the tax aspects of financing transactions (including structured finance, syndicated loans, factoring/securitizations and capital markets transactions). Seconded to the Zurich office for a 6-month period, Aldo assisted with the development of the Swiss transfer pricing practice.
Aldo is instructor of ‘Special considerations for intra-group services’ topic within Transfer Pricing course at University of Amsterdam -IBFD Adv LL.M. Program in International Tax Law (2020).
