Christophe Laurent, Partner, heads the Real Estate practice group in our Brussels office. He focuses on real estate transactions and taxation. He is also a member of the Investment Management/Funds team.
Christophe advises on real estate investment structuring and leads negotiations on real estate transactions (both asset and share deals), including sale and lease back and real estate asset management (e.g. leases and all real estate related contracts). He has acquired a reputation for excellence in tax aspects of real estate investments in Belgium, at funds level (e.g. efficient fund structuring, tax forecasts, financing) as well as at local level (due diligence, deal structuring), including tax and accounting aspects related to developments and public-private partnerships.
Christophe also has considerable experience in advising Belgian companies and subsidiaries of non-Belgian companies on domestic and international tax issues. His field of expertise includes advice on holding structures, structured finance, and pre- and post M&A tax restructuring.
