Maria-Clara specialises in commercial litigation, with a particular focus on class actions and enforcement matters. As an all-round litigator, she has extensive experience in cross-border litigation, the enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards—including against sovereign entities—market practices, and disputes in the digital economy. Through her involvement in most of the class actions initiated in Belgium to date, as well as several publications on the topic, she has developed deep expertise in this field. Maria-Clara represents clients in a wide range of proceedings before the Belgian courts.

She is a member of the firm-wide US Region Team and part of the Digital Economy and ESG focus groups. In 2022-2023, she was seconded to the New York representative office of Loyens & Loeff, followed by a secondment at a tech company in 2024. Before starting her career as a lawyer, she gained experience at the European Commission, where she interned at the Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection.

Maria-Clara previously served as President of the Dutch-speaking Brussels Bar Association (VPG) (2019-2020) and is currently a member of the Council of the Brussels Bar (Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten).
