Joris Bernaert, attorney at law, is Counsel in the Employment & Benefits practice group and Head of the Pensions & Insured Benefits team in Belgium. He has more than 15 years of experience in pension, (insured) benefits and insurance law.
Joris Beernaert’s practice focuses on insurance and pension law. He advises employers, pension funds (IORPs) and insurance companies on statutory and occupational pensions and employee benefits. He also defends their interests in court.
Joris advises pension funds and insurance companies on the social and prudential aspects of occupational pensions and the development of new products such as branch 23 solutions and occupational health insurances. He also advises employers on the optimization for the remuneration package and employee benefits.
Furthermore, he has extensive experience in undertaking due diligence audits and providing advice to clients on the HR and pension aspects of M&A transactions. Joris regularly publishes articles on, and speaks at seminars about those areas.
