Maria has substantial experience in advising banks and borrowers on various types and different stages of financing transactions, in particular: secured lending, real-estate finance, fund finance, acquisition finance, corporate finance and due diligence, including working on cross-border transactions as lead counsel.

Maria frequently advises clients on various restructuring aspects, including working on bespoke debt restructuring transactions, insolvency and security enforcements related advice.

Prior to joining Loyens & Loeff in 2022 Maria worked for more than seven years in a major white-shoe American law firm in the banking and finance department on a lead counsel role mandates focusing on CIS and European markets and on secondment with one of the leading investment banks advising on cross-border brokerage, derivative and general banking matters.
